Andrew Carver

Candidate, 14th Congressional District

Andrew Carver

As a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from California's 14th district, I pledge to put power in the hands of people. Too often, Washington passes laws that put power in the hands of bureaucrats and big government rather than in individuals.

I propose the use of market-based solutions for problems the United States currently faces in the areas of education, environmental pollution, natural resource management and infrastructure development. These solutions not only preserve individual liberty, but also have proven over time to be the best ways to ensure economic growth. If elected, I will fight to reduce taxes and to decrease the level of government involvement in private citizens' lives.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate and Department of Defense research Fellow at Stanford University. Previously, as a Vice President at Bank of America, I managed portfolios of currency options. My business background also includes experience at AXA Rosenberg Investment Management and Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals.

I graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. I also have a Master's degree from Stanford in Management Science and Engineering.
